Republic Plaza
Granite Panel Anchorage Updates
Denver, CO
The Republic Plaza (714 feet, 218 meters), built in 1984, is 56 stories tall and currently stands as the tallest building in the entire Rocky Mountain region of the United States. It is currently listed at 109 on the tallest buildings of America list. We are honored to be trusted with such an iconic structure.
The architecture firm, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, one of the largest architectural firms in the United States, designed the building. SOM has an impressive portfolio of buildings, some of the more notable include the US Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, the Lever House in Manhattan, the Chicago Civic Center and the Burj Khalifa in Dubai. They also designed the new Denver Union Station and New York’s Freedom Tower.
SUMMIT has been updating the anchorages for the granite panels with a state of the art system as part of preventative maintenance. Work is being performed on a swing stage high above the city. The new anchorages will last for many years to come.
