One of the main challenges of this project was working above a restaurant patio that needed to remain open during the summer months. This required a third party structural engineer, scaffolding supplier, and a reputable netting supply company to build temporary overhead protection. This included scaffolding towers, three different netting systems, and scaffold decking above the parking garage entrance/exit. The East Elevation overhead protection became a spectacle for tourists to take photos of, while others enjoyed a meal with minimal light shining through the netting on a hot summer day. As work was being performed along the East Elevation above the restaurant patio, we were successfully able to complete repairs one week ahead of schedule. The project was executed in two phases to allow the work to be performed during adequate weather. The East Elevation was performed as the first phase due to the large number of repairs compared to other elevations, and the installation of the overhead protection. The second phase was along the North, South, and West Elevations. The South and North Elevations were worked on at the same time to provide a wrap around to the West. As we brought the two twenty-foot stages together on the West Elevation, we were able to successfully complete the project two weeks ahead of schedule.
