18th St. Pedestrian Bridge

The Summits Sealants Crew repaired the aging concrete and put a new deck coating on the 18th St. Pedestrian Bridge. The bridge remained open for the majority of the construction.

Deck coating is applied in a series of layers. Generally there is one or more base coats, then sand is applied for texture, and then a top coat is applied. A good deck coating is important to protect the concrete from water as well as traction for pedestrian safety.
